Primary Care

Geriatric Care

Geriatrics is the care of patients over 65. We work with our patients to reduce the number of medications taken and to improve overall quality of life.

Wellness Visits

Healthy people still need an occasional check in to make sure they are not developing new health conditions.

Nutritional Education

Nutrition is key to overcoming chronic illness including High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, and High Cholesterol.

Appointment Types

We see patients for a variety of reasons. Insurance will sometimes limit payment for certain visit types for only cover certain things at certain visit types. See below for a breakdown of our appointment types.

Routine Follow-up Appointments These appointments are for general followup appointments. These visits are usually to followup on acute or chronic conditions (monitor diabetes or blood pressure or see if shoulder pain has improved, etc.)

Acute visits for sickness and new problems These appointments are for new or nonchronic issues, such as a sinus infection, urinary tract infection, gout flare up, etc. Chronic conditions are not usually discussed at these focused visits.

Hospital Follow-up appointments These appointments are to discuss a recent hospitalization, review medications, and make appropriate referrals.

Medicare Wellness Visits (for those with Medicare) Medicare will cover these visits instead of an Annual Physical/Annual Exam. An EXAM IS NOT COVERED for this visit. This visit is only to discuss preventive issues and screening (for cancer, osteoporosis, etc.) as well as to evaluate for other issues that may lead to other problems. For example, balance and falls are discussed as well as screening for depression, anxiety, memory, and other problems often seen as patients get older. This visit was created to set aside time to discuss these issues. During a typical followup visit other issues are usually discussed and these issues are usually not.

Weight loss (through natural means) We do not prescribe prescription medication for solely for weight loss. Weight gain can be caused by many things, including ingesting excess calories, increase in sedentary behavior, mold exposure, food sensitivities, gut flora changes, and hormonal issues. These visits will discuss factors that may be contributing to difficulty with weight loss. A care plan will be developed in collaboration with the patient to address underlying issues causing weight gain.

Our Primary Care clinic sees patients 18 and older. We take care of health issues from acute to multiple chronic complicated health conditions.
